HOCKEY CANADA ADDRESSES FRENCH ERRORS 
ON BOUTIQUE.HOCKEYCANADA.CA

CALGARY, Alta. – After being made aware of several errors on Hockey Canada’s French language online shopping website, boutique.hockeycanada.ca, Hockey Canada has asked licensee Elastic Path Services Ltd. to suspend operations of the entire website until the quality of the French being used on the website meets Hockey Canada’s requirements. The shopping website has been online since late October 2009.

“We regret these errors are on Hockey Canada’s new online shopping website and have instructed our provider Elastic Path Services Ltd. to address these concerns immediately,” said Hockey Canada executive committee member and chief financial officer Paul Delparte. “The operation of the entire shopping website portion has been suspended until we are satisfied with the quality of the French content.”

“All information on Hockey Canada’s main website is always posted in both English and French, with steps in place to ensure quality at all times,” said Hockey Canada executive committee member and chief operating officer Scott Smith. “Hockey Canada made translation and translation services available to its online shopping provider, but regrettably, such services may not have been utilized to the fullest extent in these specific cases. All this being said, Hockey Canada deeply regrets that these unfortunate mistakes were not identified and corrected earlier.”
