CANADA TO FACE SWITZERLAND IN SEMIFINALS AT 2010 
IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP; SWEDEN TO TAKE 
ON UNITED STATES

SASKATOON, Sask. – Canada will face Switzerland on Sunday (5 p.m. ET, TSN) in the first of two semifinals at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship. The last time Canada met Switzerland in medal-round action of the IIHF World Junior Championship was in 2002, when Canada won 4-0 in a semifinal game.

Switzerland shocked Russia 3-2 in overtime on Saturday in quarterfinal action. Later in the day, the United States defeated Finland 6-2. That sets up a Sweden-USA semifinal on Sunday.

January 3 schedule
Game 24 (relegation): Czech Republic vs. Latvia, 12:00, FastHockey

January 4 schedule

Game 29 (relegation): Russia vs. Finland (fifth-place game), 20:00, FastHockey

The two medal games will conclude the championship on Tuesday, January 5. Tickets for all games are available at www.ticketmaster.ca.

Note: The bottom two teams from the relegation round will move down to Division 1 for the 2011 World Junior Championship. The two teams moving up into the top division are Germany and Norway.
